One night of countless memories, a community transformed into a room filled with music reverberating in the air, countless laughter and friendly chatter, and friendships strengthened and created.
St. Paul University Dumaguete has successfully highlighted its ardent annual Lambigit gathering with this year’s theme, inspired from the movie The Greatest Showman, “Show Your Shine in the World that you Design.” This year’s circus-like acquaintance party was initiated by the Student Affairs Office (SAO) and spearheaded by Ms. Maria Rowena D. Masicampo, RN, MAN, in collaboration with the Paulinian Student Government officials (PSG) last August 17, 2018 at the Fr. Louis Chauvet Hall (FLCH).
Once one steps inside the spacious edifice, it suddenly feels like stepping foot on an entirely different corner of the world. Like nomads flocking to where tons of food are, students of SPUD first gathered at the Mere Maria Hall at 4:30 PM for the agape. Not only was the event memorable, but it also provided the attendees with the perfect venue to build friendships and create lasting memories with tables provided for them to chat and chill. Delectable foods were spread out and served.
The program commenced with a prayer and the singing of the Philippine National Anthem. Afterwards, University President Sr. Joseline R. Lasala, SPC gave her welcome speech. Not to be outdone, the spotlight rested on the production number of the Aninaw Dance Troupe as they danced with the waving strobe of lights that complemented the myriad of smiles from the cheering crowd. Each department flaunted their moves on the dance floor which drew thunderous cheers from the spectating students. The College of Nursing garnered the Best Presentation award. Meanwhile, the Stars of the Night were Ms. Nathalie Acab from the College of Arts and Education and Mr. Arniel Blanco from the College of Business and Information Technology.
It was a moment worth remembering. Ms. Masicampo gave her closing remarks. Later, all PSG officials presented their dance number as an opening for the crowd to join on the dancing flair of the tune of the music.
It was just for one night but it encompassed countless memories.
