The St. Paul University Dumaguete Research Team attended the first meeting of the newly-revived Central Visayas Consortium for Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technology Research and Development (CVCIEERD) last November 8-9, 2018 at the Belian Hotel, Tagbilaran City, Bohol. This meeting was hosted by the University of Bohol and was organized by the Philippine Council for Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technology Research and Development - Department of Science and Technology (PCIEERD-DOST). The event was also attended by different members and partners within the consortium coming from different universities and colleges within the Central Visayas Region.
The Officer-in-charge and the Research Associate of our university were able to attend, participate, and become part of the committees of the consortium during its strategic planning. Mrs. Irish Udtohan is now one of the members of the Research and Development Committee and Mr. Cliford Kilat is also one of the members of the Capacity Building Committee. The active participation of SPUD in this partnership will give the university a higher chance of getting funds from government agencies such as the DOST in conducting institutional researches. The Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing of the said consortium for all its members and partners will be announced as soon as the procedures manual and by-laws will be finished. The said documents are still subject for review to all Consortium Member Institutions (CMIs).
