With the hefty task of being the host school and participant at the same time, St. Paul University Dumaguete was able to pull it off by garnering a total of 658 points, putting it on the fourth place.
The SPUD participants showcased their creativity and ingenuity as they enlivened this year’s theme with their various works of art—Torch Making, Polo Shirt Design, Banner Making, Trash to Fashion, and Collage Poster Making wherein they were ranked 2nd, 5th, 2nd, 5th, and 3rd, respectively. They were also able to express their insights about Accounting through the Spoken Poetry and Music Video presentation, with them garnering the 4th and 1st places, respectively. Carrying with them the virtue of charism through the Acoustic Bandakada and Pop Dance Competition, they tied with Foundation University on the 3rd place and garnered 4th place, respectively. The contestants for the Sing Tanong, Sing Sagot garnered the 4th place while the contestants for Speed Typing won 2nd.
Apart from the aforementioned activities, there were also mind-enriching ones such as the Quiz Bowl, speed computation, and chess wherein they ranked 4th, 2nd, and 5th, respectively. With regard to athletic games, the basketball men’s team ranked 5th while the women’s team ranked 3rd. As for volleyball, the mixed team of men and women ranked 1st. On the other hand, the badminton men’s team ranked 1st, badminton women’s team ranked 3rd, and badminton mixed team ranked 5th. Meanwhile, the competitor for swimming ranked 3rd.
SPUD’s representatives for the Mr. and Ms. Ambassadors of Goodwill 2018, Reden Merabedes and Jenny Lazaro, bagged the 2nd runner-up title.
Meanwhile, all the competitors from various universities and colleges in Dumaguete city exemplified the theme “Promoting Integrity, Advancing Excellence” through the activities prepared for them during the entire 2018 Accountancy Week Celebration.
