Paulinian pride has shown its brilliance once again as they assume their functions during the Turnover, Oath Taking and Induction Ceremonies held last 6th of July, 2019 at the Bethel Guest House, Dumaguete City, organized by the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) Negros Oriental Chapter with this year^^s theme, "Reinforcing the Future. Together. Today."
The event was hosted by toastmaster Ms. Joanna Rose Deciar, CPA, Program Chair of the Accountancy Department of the College of Business and Information Technology and formally opened by a speech from PICPA President-Elect, Ms. Doriza Emague, CPA. The first part of the program was allotted for the Turnover ceremonies wherein Mrs. Natalie Ermina, CPA, President of the Fiscal Year 2018-2019, gave her Valedictory Address. Following the speech was the Presentation of the Leadership award and Giving of Tokens to the Officers of the FY 2018-2019 taken charged by Mrs Cristina O. Jumawan, CPA, MBA as well as giving her inaugural address afterwards as the newly elected President of the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) Negros Oriental Chapter for the Fiscal Year 2019-2020. It is with great pride that the Dean of SPUD^^s College of Business and Information Technology has been inducted into office.
The second part of the program then was for the Oath taking of new CPAs and Induction Ceremony for the Negros Oriental Federation - Junior Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (NOF JPIA). The introduction of Judge Tristo F. Banquerigo, the Inducting Officer, was tasked to Mr. Meliton Gabas, CPA, the PICPA Sectoral Director for Education. The achievement of SPUD^^s alumni, Ms. Mildred P. Deciar, CPA, who recently passed the 2019 May CPA Licensure Examination, was recognized and pledged into. Another commendable feat for SPUD is the election of the following officers into NOF JPIA with their respective courses, year level, and organizational position; Angela Anton Mapeso BSA-IV (President), Belle Anton Ponce BSMA-IV (VP for Finance), and Patricia Bonto BSA-IV (VP for Media and Documentation).
Indeed, the event was a success for our Dean and for all the student leaders who pledged on that day to accept the responsibility on their shoulders of abiding and upholding the Constitution and By-laws of their respective organizations with the aim in view of furthering its purpose. Congratulations! Truly, we are #strongertogether!
