CASEpisode Season 3: Empowering the Minds of Future Educators and Psychologists as Building Blocks of Society

On April 26, 2024, the College of Arts, Sciences, and Education celebrated CASE Week with one of its activities, The CASEpisode Season 3, which aims to up-skill and aid knowledge to education and psychology students in their chosen professions.

In St. Joseph Hall, levels 1-4 education students gathered for a talk with their guest speaker, Dr. Juditha Mapue. The discussion focuses on the Matatag Curriculum: Overview and Orientation. It was said that DepEd launched the MATATAG Curriculum as a recalibrated K–10 curriculum under the K–12 program. She also explained the meaning behind the MATATAG Curriculum, which is to: make the curriculum relevant to produce responsible citizens; take steps to accelerate the delivery of services; take good care of the learners; and give support for teachers to facilitate better teaching.

On the other side, psychology students gathered at the Junior High School AVR to have their CASEpisode with their guest, Ms. Aileen Rosette Felix, PhD, RPsy, to aid information about psychological first aid—an approach built on the concept of human resilience.

An open forum was also done where education and psychology students were given a chance to ask their queries for clarifications and in-depth understanding.
CASEepisode is an annual gathering done during CASE Week celebration where invited speakers can share their knowledge about the theme topic. This event allows students to learn from real-life experiences and acquire new knowledge and skills necessary for their personal and professional growth.

This CASE tradition serves as a reminder that CASE Week is not just a momentous occasion for building friendship and capturing memories but also an avenue to empower the minds of CASE students as the soon-to-be building blocks of society.
