MESSAGE OF MAYOR FELIPE ANTONIO B. REMOLLO TO THE 120TH FOUNDING ANNIVERSARY OF SAINT PAUL UNIVERSITY - DUMAGUETE

It is my great honor and privilege to join Saint Paul University Dumaguete in celebrating a milestone of 120 years of Paulinian presence in the City of Gentle People.

Like me, thousands of students received quality education strongly rooted in the Catholic faith that prepared us to take on leadership and consequential roles in our fields of profession and the communities we live in.

We are deeply indebted to the 7 pioneering Saint Paul of Chartres Sisters, who braved the elements and landed in Dumaguete some 120 years ago and planted the seeds to educate the young, a mission being faithfully and competently sustained by their successors up to the present.

Indeed, Dumaguete City will not be what it is today without the passion and dedication of the Paulinian Sisters, who continue to labor in the mission of harnessing the intellect and talents of the youth so they will be imbued with the Christian virtues necessary to become responsible and productive citizens of Dumaguete City and beyond.

Rest assured we will continue to honor the legacy of Saint Paul for we are always compelled with our love of Christ, forever.

Again, Congratulations my fellow Paulinians and let us always be faithful to the teachings’ of Jesus Christ as “hopeful and grateful pilgrims.”

A blessed 120th year of existence in Dumaguete City!
