SPUD, led by Sr. Mila Grace A. Silab, SPC, recently hosted a benchmarking activity with Iloilo Science and Technology University to strengthen academic and institutional development.

St. Paul University Dumaguete (SPUD), led by University President Sr. Mila Grace A. Silab, SPC, recently hosted a delegation from Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT U) for a benchmarking activity designed to strengthen key areas of academic and institutional development. Prior to the in-person session, an online meeting was held on March 20, with a focus on Internationalization. The subsequent face-to-face session, conducted on March 25, delved into areas such as Student Mobility and Processing, Student Affairs, and Quality Assurance. This event served as a valuable platform for exchanging best practices, fostering collaboration, and promoting mutual growth between the two institutions.

The discussions began with Internationalization, where Dr. Mary Francis Laquinon, Head of the Office of Internationalization and Continuing Education, shared strategies for fostering global partnerships and providing students with broader international exposure. Ms. Etherlyn Cadapan, the University Registrar, elaborated on SPUD’s student mobility processes, focusing on the application and processing procedures that ensure efficient and streamlined student exchanges. In the area of Student Affairs, Ms. Angela Kristine Ocao, Head of Student Affairs, led the sharing of best practices aimed at enhancing student engagement, welfare, and leadership development, all designed to support students' academic success and personal growth. Lastly, Ms. Grace L. Alejado, Head of Planning, Development, and Quality Assurance, highlighted the institution's Quality Assurance initiatives, sharing practices and processes that ensure the delivery of high-quality education and continuous academic improvement.

The benchmarking activity was a successful initiative that allowed St. Paul University Dumaguete and Iloilo Science and Technology University to strengthen academic ties and share valuable insights. Both universities remain committed to advancing their respective academic programs and student support systems through strategic collaboration and the adoption of best practices.
