St. Paul University Dumaguete Joins Medical Mission 2026 in Honor of Fr. Vic Valencia

St. Paul University Dumaguete proudly participated in the Medical Mission 2026, a significant community outreach event organized in honor of Fr. Vic Valencia. The initiative was spearheaded by Negrenses del Oriental de Minnesota, in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Bayawan City.

The two-day medical mission (March 2-3) aimed to provide essential healthcare services to underserved communities, promote health awareness, and foster stronger ties between local and international partners. The event saw the active involvement of the university’s 4th-year nursing students, clinical instructors, and key university personnel including the International Relations Officer, Alumni Coordinator, and External Affairs representatives.

During the event, community members received free consultations with volunteer doctors, along with access to medicines, dental services, minor surgeries, and free reading glasses. These services were made possible through the dedicated efforts of medical professionals and volunteers committed to improving health outcomes in the region.

Students and faculty members worked tirelessly to assist in medical consultations, registrations, taking vital signs, and health education. Their dedication exemplifies the university’s commitment to social responsibility and service learning, while also honoring the legacy of Fr. Vic Valencia, whose contributions to community development continue to inspire.

This collaborative effort reflects the university’s ongoing partnership with international organizations and local government agencies to promote health and wellness in the region. The Medical Mission 2026 not only provided immediate healthcare support but also strengthened the bond between St. Paul University Dumaguete and the communities it aims to serve.

As the event concluded, participants expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to serve and learn, reaffirming the university’s mission to nurture compassionate and competent health professionals dedicated to community service.
