College of Arts, Sciences, and Education and Jollibee Celebrate Literacy at Basa Ta Bata Closing Event

The College of Arts, Sciences, and Education (CASE) recently culminated the Annual Basa Ta Bata Program in a festive event held at Magasaysay Memorial Elementary School. The celebration was a collaborative effort between CASE, Jollibee District 2, and the school community, emphasizing the importance of fostering a love for reading among young learners.

Organized by education student volunteers from CASE and supported by Dean Dr. Kenneth Paul C. Duran, together with Mrs. Trina Ampalayo, Basa ta Bata adviser, and the MMES teacher coordinators, the event showcased the college’s commitment to promoting literacy. It featured interactive storytelling sessions, engaging games, and educational activities designed to encourage children to explore new books and reading materials.

In support of the pupils’ learning journey, the college also donated school supplies during the event. To add a touch of fun, Jollibee Foods Corporation sponsored snacks that delighted the children. The occasion was made even more memorable with a special appearance by the Jollibee mascot, bringing joy and excitement to the young attendees.

Representatives from Jollibee who attended the event included Mrs. Ana Liza B. Yap, Area Manager; Mrs. Mary Grace C. Somoza, RM-JB Bais; Mr. Jerwin P. Leyson, RM-JB Cathedral; and Mr. John Jay Daquipil, RM-JB Tanjay.

The culmination of Basa Ta Bata reflects a strong partnership between CASE, the school, and community partners, reinforcing a shared goal of nurturing creativity, education, and a lifelong love for reading among young learners.
