SPUD Delegates Spark Positive Change at 'PeerKada Vibe' Training

St. Paul University Dumaguete proudly participated in the "PeerKada Vibe: Building Healthy Connections, Nurturing Inclusive and Supportive Spaces,"a two-day capacity-building training facilitated by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) in partnership with the Unilab Foundation.

Representing the University were Sr. Pearlgen Joy Arroyo, SPC, Vice President for Student Services; Jeneviev E. Deang, MAEd., RGC, Guidance Buddies Moderator; and the Guidance Buddies officers, Ranny Mae Paculanang, President, and Joevy Lopez, Vice President.

Their participation was made possible through the support of the Student Affairs Office, reflecting the University's commitment to strengthening collaboration among student organizations and investing in student leaders who inspire positive change.

Throughout the two-day training, participants gained valuable insights into the power of peer support, and the important role young people play in creating safe, inclusive, and compassionate spaces within their schools and communities. Through interactive discussions and meaningful learning experiences, they were equipped with the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and values needed to become effective peer facilitators and advocates for mental health and well-being.

As they return to SPUD, our delegates bring with them not only new learnings but also a renewed commitment to fostering a culture of kindness, empathy, and belonging—one conversation, one connection, and one act of care at a time.

This reflects the University's commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, by empowering young people to lead with compassion and build stronger, more inclusive communities.

Together, we continue to create spaces where every Paulinian feels heard, valued, and supported.
