At St. Paul University Dumaguete, we continue to strengthen our culture of awareness, preparedness, and care. As part of this continuing commitment, we have extensively strengthened our campus security measures, including tighter access control and the limitation of designated entrances and exits. These measures are in place to help safeguard our students, faculty, staff, and visitors and to ensure that our campus remains a safe and secure learning environment.

We also remind everyone to remain familiar with the basic options during an active threat: RUN • HIDE • FIGHT.

These are not steps to follow in sequence. The safest response depends on the situation:

RUN — If there is a safe way out, move away from danger and proceed to a safe location.

HIDE — If you cannot safely escape, secure your space: lock, barricade, silence, and stay out of sight.

FIGHT — If danger is immediate and there is no safer option, defend yourself as a last resort.

For our younger learners, safety responses should always be “age-appropriate” and guided by teachers and responsible adults.

We understand that strengthened security measures and controlled access may sometimes require additional time, patience, and adjustment from everyone. We sincerely ask for your continued patience and cooperation as our security personnel and designated personnel carry out these measures. Every identification check, access restriction, and safety procedure is part of our collective effort to protect the Paulinian community.

Let us continue to look after one another, remain vigilant and informed, and respond with calmness, responsibility, and care, not out of fear, but because the safety of our community is a shared responsibility.
