SPUD Marks 59th ASEAN Day with Cultural Showcase and International Student Highlights

St. Paul University Dumaguete (SPUD) officially commenced its celebration of the 59th ASEAN Day anniversary, highlighting regional cooperation, cultural heritage, and international solidarity.

The commemorative event is a collaboration between the International Affairs Office and the Student Affairs Office. It showcases the university’s diverse student body and commitment to global education.

As part of the festivities, Hospitality Management (HM) and Tourism Management (TM) students have launched interactive, student-led DIY booths. The local showcases feature the preparation and sale of authentic delicacies representing various ASEAN member states, offering the Paulinian community a firsthand taste of Southeast Asian culinary traditions.

Adding to the cultural exchange, the celebration features a special cultural performance by international nursing students who are nuns from Myanmar. Their presentation offers a unique glimpse into the rich heritage and spiritual traditions of their home country, exemplifying the spirit of unity and inclusion within the university.

The event strengthens the core ASEAN vision of shared identity and community resilience across the region.
