PHISHING & EMAIL SCAM AWARENESS — THINK BEFORE YOU CLICK

A suspicious message can look convincing, sound urgent, and appear to come from someone you trust. But before you click, reply, download, or share information, pause and verify.

This month’s SPARK Digital Bytes highlights practical ways to recognize phishing and email scams and protect your digital identity.

Watch for the warning signs:

• Urgent or threatening messages
• Unknown or unexpected senders
• Suspicious links and attachments
• Requests for passwords or OTPs
• Too-good-to-be-true offers
• Messages designed to trigger fear, curiosity, or urgency

Remember:
STOP. CHECK. VERIFY.

Never share your password, OTP/MFA code, recovery code, or other sensitive information simply because a message asks for it.

And if you accidentally click a suspicious link, don’t panic, act quickly. Secure your account, change your password, review MFA, report the incident, and monitor for unusual activity.

Cybersecurity is everyone’s responsibility.

Be Smart. Be Secure. Be a Paulinian.
