Prison Ministry Brings Hope and Joy to PDL at Negros Oriental Rehabilitation and Detention Center
In a remarkable display of compassion and dedication, the Prison Ministry, facilitated by the SPUD Lay Administrators, Staff and SU interns, took place at the Negros Oriental Rehabilitation and Detention Center today March 21, 2024. The event aimed to provide spiritual guidance, emotional support, and a sense of community to the incarcerated individuals, fostering a positive environment for growth and rehabilitation.
Highlights of the event included engaging Bible sharing sessions and thought-provoking reflections. These activities encouraged self-reflection and introspection among the participants, enabling them to find solace and inspiration in the teachings of the Bible.
In addition to the spiritual activities, the Prison Ministry also incorporated games to energize and uplift the spirits of the Person Deprived of Liberty(PDL). These games not only served as a means of entertainment but also helped to create a more conducive atmosphere for learning and bonding among the participants.
The event was met with
immense gratitude from the PDL, who expressed their appreciation for the opportunity to engage in such meaningful activities. The Prison Ministry has not only provided spiritual nourishment but also fostered a sense of camaraderie and hope within the detention center.
The lay administration, staff and SU interns, who organized the event, have demonstrated their unwavering commitment to supporting the rehabilitation process of the PDL. Their efforts have not only positively impacted the lives of those within the facility but also contributed to the broader goal of promoting a more just and compassionate society.
As the Prison Ministry continues to make a difference in the lives of those incarcerated, it serves as a reminder that hope, compassion, and understanding can transform lives and pave the way for a brighter future for all.
