Paulinian Debaters Reign Supreme in Negrense Debate Cup

Dumaguete City, Philippines - The Paulinian Debate Society has made a stunning mark in the recently concluded Negrense Debate Cup, held at Silliman University Dumaguete. Two of its debaters, Livia Kaspar - BSN III and Wilkens Abordo - BSED Math II, emerged as the top two Best Speakers out of 16 competing teams from different universities and high schools across the city.

The Negrense Debate Cup, which featured a pool of talented debaters from Silliman University, Foundation University, Asian College, Metro Dumaguete College, RTPM Dumaguete Science High School, Piapi National High School, and Dumaguete City High School, saw the Paulinian duo dominate the competition.

Kaspar, a standout debater, garnered an impressive 300 points, making her the top Best Speaker in the Open Category. Abordo, also a force to be reckoned with, took home the second spot with 299 points.

The debate competition was held in a British Parliament style, with four rounds of intense debate. The Paulinian duo advanced as finalists in the Open Category, which comprised 32 debaters from various institutions.

The Paulinian Debate Society's outstanding performance is a testament to its commitment to developing its students' skills in debate and communication.
