Paulinian Excellence Unveiled: Transforming Healthcare Through Nursing Research
On Sunday, October 6, 2024, twelve of our Paulinian nursing student researchers from Saint Paul University Dumaguete, along with their esteemed research adviser, Dr. Ayeza Cathrina Tinagan, RN, MAN, made waves at the prestigious 22nd National Conference for Nursing Students. Hosted by the Association of Deans of Philippine Colleges of Nursing Inc. (ADPCN), the event was held at the Fiesta Pavilion of Manila Hotel. Under the banner of this year’s theme, "Strengthening Quality Assurance in Nursing Education for a Sustainable Health Workforce," our students exemplified Paulinian excellence through their progressive research.
Carlvin Louis Justin V. Abo, Hannah Gail V. Ang, Hamihlyn A. Balauro, Kaye Erika E. Casildo, Mizy Maryjune D. Cruzpero, Haelenna June V. Cubalan, and Jazerr Louise Marco V. Depalas presented their study, "From Struggle to Strength: Unveiling the Mariposa-Chrysalis Journey of Infertile Women in Negros Oriental" This profound exploration into the emotional and societal implications of infertility deeply resonated with the audience, demonstrating the compassionate and insightful approach characteristic of Paulinian student nurses.
Meanwhile, Lucky Frates Sedayon, Sam Anthony C. Tanara, Princess Jirah Torres, Justine O. Villegas, and Elijah Yves Yuson discussed their study, "A Case Study on a Filipino Family Living with a Member Diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder." Their research shed light on the dynamics of family life when faced with ADHD, offering valuable insights into the psychological and relational aspects of caregiving in the Filipino context.
