The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Regional Office for the Negros Island Region (NIR) was blessed in a ceremony at the Negros Oriental State University (NORSU) campus. The event featured Sr. Mila Grace Silab, SPC, President of Saint Paul University (SPU) Dumaguete, who congratulated CHED NIR Director Dr. Raul C. Alvarez, Jr., CESO III.

Sr. Mila highlighted the importance of the new office in enhancing educational services and expressed confidence in Dr. Alvarez's leadership. The establishment of the CHED NIR office signalizes a new era for higher education in Negros Island and Siquijor, fostering collaboration among universities and colleges to enable students to achieve their academic and career goals.

The ceremony started with a Holy Mass presided by Fr. Eugene Lucerna and was attended by local education officials, faculty, and guests, all excited about the potential partnership with the new CHED office. Dr. Alvarez thanked attendees and reiterated his commitment to advancing higher education opportunities across the Negros Island Region.
