St. Paul University Dumaguete Participates in National Data Privacy Roadshow

St. Paul University Dumaguete (SPUD) proudly took part in the Data Privacy Roadshow held on September 3–4, 2025, at the Waterfront Insular Hotel in Davao City. Organized by the National Privacy Commission (NPC), the event brought together academic institutions, government agencies, and private organizations to discuss the latest developments in data privacy regulations, best practices in data protection, and responsible management of personal and sensitive information.
The two-day roadshow emphasized the vital role of educational institutions in fostering a culture of privacy and accountability. It provided a platform for sharing insights and strategies to enhance data governance, ensuring that organizations remain compliant with evolving privacy laws while safeguarding the rights of individuals.
Representing SPUD were the Head of ICT, Dr. Maria Kathleen Mariño and the designated Data Protection Officer, Dr. Mary Francis Laquinon, whose active participation underscores the University’s strong commitment to transparency, accountability, and respect for data subjects’ rights.
